摘　　要：英语在中世纪晚期发展为英格兰民族语言所经历的过程漫长而曲折。在中世纪英国基督化过程中,基督教因其宗教传统、独特的时代性和社会性影响并推动着英语的向前发展,而民族宗教的形成是英语民族语言的形成与发展的最关键宗教因素之一。用本民族语言诠释宗教信仰、传播宗教理念是民族宗教形成的前提条件,以伦敦语为基础的英语方言顺应了这一历史需求,成为传播基督教的新用语,客观上为民族语言的形成作出了重要贡献。The making of English national language in Medieval England had endured a long way to go. The Christianization of England had influenced the development of English language due to its unique social character at that time.The formation of national religion was one of the key factors in the unavoidable growth of English national language.Therefore,using national language to interpret and spread national re-ligion became necessary.Based on London dialect,English rose to be the national language to meet such re-ligious requirement.
