In the course of the struggle for national independence,the African nationalist politicians and thinkers failed to put forward theories of the state or of politics suit to the African conditions;as a result,up till today,African countries are still in the process of exploring the question of whichever political system to establish after their independence,Africa's primitive democracy had great limitations and must not be transplanted intact to the modern complex political and social life today.The exceedingly close family relationship and family conceptions are exerting ever obvious negative influence over the political and economic modernization,as demonstrated by tribalism and family rule.The political democratic movement which swept Africa in the last few years has created some political models applicable to African conditions,such as the model of South Africa whereas one party dominates in a multi-party coalition government,or the model of Ghana's district assembly,etc.In short, unless it integrates with the traditional culture,modernization will not be widely accepted by the people of the nation or the country.As to how to achieve the integration, it not only calls for theoretical research,but depends more on persistent exploration and timely summarisation in practice.
