摘　　要：社会的异化,机械文明的发展不仅摧残了人的自然本性,也造成了人类精神世界的颓废和荒芜,而这种失落和病态在英国桂冠诗人塔特·休斯对女性形象的刻画中达到了高潮。诗歌中一个个或疯癫或自闭的女性形象反映了女性对自身正常感情的忽略以及对自身悲剧命运的无视和长期认同,即使一部分主体意识觉醒的女性也因无力挣脱社会和自身的束缚而导致人性的扭曲和生存的悲剧。The alienation experienced by the modern civilization is best expressed by Ted Hughes through the portrayal of the characters in his poetry,and it is in the women that Hughes sees this fall to be most complete and tragic.In his poetry,Hughes expresses his deep concern about women’s alienated existence by means of astraightforward but impressive depiction of different women images.The unawareness of th eir misfortunes and subjection to its bondage with little self-consciousness necessarilyleadstotheirdistortion.
