摘　　要：“左徒”之职之名义职掌者 ,旧说均不成立。文章结合出土文献资料 ,通过详实的考证后得出结论 :楚之左徒与征尹是一种官职的两种不同的称谓 ,相当于中原地区的“行人”一职 ,是负责外交事务的官员。The previous interpretations of the official title of 'Zoutu' don't have firm ground. In combination of the unearthed documents and through a detailed examination of them, the essay comes to a conclusion that Zuotu and Zhengyin were the two versions of the same official title in the ancient Kingdom of Chu, something like the title of 'Xingren' in the central region of ancient China, who was in charge of diplomatic affairs. The essay also makes an investigation into the qualities which'Zuotu' was supposed to have.
