摘　　要：会议电视技术是计算机多媒体技术与数字通信技术结合的产物，而虚拟会议又是会议电视技术在计算机网络中的一个实际应用．在“虚拟”的概念下，人们原则上可以在任何时候，与任何地点的人，构成“虚拟”网，召开与物理位置无关，甚至与地理位置无关的“虚拟会议”．笔者通过所参与的具体项目上海科技网虚拟会议和上海电视大学远程教学系统，来介绍这一技术及其在上海的应用和前景．Video conference technique stems from the combination of computer multimedia techniques and digital communication techniques , and virtual conference is a practical application of video conference technique in computer network.The concept 'virtual', means that persons in any place can form a 'virtual' network at any time, and a 'virtual conference' can be held with no relation to physical position and even geographical position.This technique, its application and foreground in Shanghai are introduced by two examples, virtual conference over Shanghai Science and Technology Network and Remote Teaching and Learning System of Shanghai Television University, which the writer participated in.
