摘　　要：本文以英国Leeds大学土木系为重点，介绍英国大学的教学工作，并与国内大学教学工作做比较分析，指出英国大学的通才培养和自学的力培养很值得我们借鉴，建议为提高师资队伍学术水平，我国教师应向一专多能发展。In this paper is presented the teaching work of British universities with special stress on that of the Department of Civil Engineering in University of Leeds in comparison with the counterpart in Chinese universities.It is pointed out that the significant features of teaching work in British universities are to cultivate versatility and self taught ability in students,a highly valuable experience for our reference.In order to raise our academic level,it is suggested that Chinese academic staff should develop towards the target of being expert in one subject and good at many.
