摘　　要： The Qiqihar No. 2 Machine Tool Works, founded in 1950, is a large national enterprise with the longest record in the production of milling and boring machines. The factory has automatic forging presses and a staff of over 10,000 including 1,218 technicians. It occupies an area of 940,000 sqm with buildings covering 210,000 sqm and has fixed asset worth RMB220.89 million, 1740 pieces of equipment, overhead traveling cranes with a lifting capacity of 160 tons, thermostat controlled workshops, a modern metering and testing centre and computer centres. In addition the factory has a research institute for automatic forging presses and operates the Heilongjiang Large Dies Development Centre.
