从概念整合理论看英语形名组合的意义建构——以典型的形名组合为例

摘　　要：英语典型的形名组合大致分成三类:颜色形容词与名词的组合、同一形容词与不同名词的组合以及否定形容词与名词的组合。通过分析得出结论:形名组合的意义不是由形容词与名词组合而成,而是由形容词与名词触发的心理空间经过概念整合,在背景知识、语境信息的调整下,动态实时建构起来的。Based upon the Conceptual Blending Theory,the paper analyses the meaning construction of the normal English adjective-noun combination.It specifies the types of the normal English adjective-noun combination including color adjective plus noun,the same adjective plus different nouns and private adjective plus noun.Research has found that the meaning construction of adjective-noun combination is not determined by the meaning of its constituents and its structure.Instead it is the emergent structure in the blended space which is integrated from the adjective input space and the noun input space,adjusted by the background knowledge and the context information that dynamically constructs the on-line meaning of adjective-noun combination.
