摘　　要：《了不起的盖茨比》是美国作家弗·司各特·菲茨杰拉德著的中篇小说,在美国文学占据着重要地位。然而,小说使用的艺术手法、叙事方式方面的探索、译本与英语原著修辞手法的区别也成为了研究的重点,因此,本文将从修辞方式的角度对翻译词语的区别以及人物语言方式的异同进行分析,寻求一种解读原文和译文的有效途径,为英汉互译提供修辞基础,为学术研究提供便利条件。'The great Gatsby' is USA writer Vladimir Scott Fitzgerald's novella, plays an important role in the America literature. However, the difference of the use of artistic techniques, the exploration of novel narrative mode, translation with the original English rhetoric has become the focus of the study, therefore, this paper will analyze the differences on translation words and characters from the similarities and differences of language rhetoric perspective, to seek the effective way for interpretation of the original and the translation, to provide rhetorical basis for English and Chinese translation, to provide convenient conditions for academic research.
