Objective To investigate the application effect of health education path in colorectal cancer patients receiving postoperative intravenous chemotherapy. Methods One hundred and twenty colorectal cancer patients receiving postoperative intravenous chemotherapy were randomly divided to observation and control groups. The compliance of chemotherapy and confidence in chemotherapy completion were compared between the two groups. Results There were no significant differences in age, gender, clinical TNM stage, chemotherapy regimen, hospital stay and patients ' education degree between the two groups. 98% of the patients in the observation group and 71% in the control group finished whole chemotherapy(P=0.000). 88.3% of the patients in the observation group and only 68.3% in the control group had confidence in chemotherapy completion(P=0.008). The compliance and confidence of the patients in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group. Conclusions Health education path is effectively helpful for colorectal cancer patients to understand and accept chemotherapy. It can also help them deal with the side effects of chemotherapy, hence enhance their confidence in finishing chemotherapy.
