摘　　要：V.S.奈保尔是当代后殖民文学的重要作家。他复杂的身份背景、寻找文化归属和精神家园方面的难题,都反映在其作品中。其作品《米格尔大街》展示了后殖民地人真实的生活状况;《比斯瓦斯先生的房子》反映了后殖民地人对个人独立与身份的追求。在多部作品中,奈保尔以犀利的笔锋描述了殖民地制度带来的恶果。V. S. Naipaul is an important modern writer of post-colonial literature. The complicated personal identity and the problems encountered in seeking his cultural attribution and spiritual home are well reflected in his works. In Miguel Street, the real lives of the people in the post-colonial country are described. In A House for Mr. Biswas, the pursuance of individual independence and personal identity is depicted. Many of Naipaul's works reveal and denounce the evils of colonialism left to post-colonial countries.
