摘　　要：《推销员之死》是经典悲剧之一。剧中主人公威利·罗曼受到扭曲的美国梦的欺骗,最终走向悲剧性的死亡。他处在资本主义社会的底层,妄图用生命的代价去实现自己的人生价值———获得他人的认可,但资本主义体制却要求一个人要像机器那样,只有工作,没有思想,从而剥夺了人的人性的一面。这正是导致威利由失望走向绝望进而走向死亡的根源所在,所以该剧是对他所处社会时代的一种批判。Death of A Salesman is a classic tragedy. The leading character, Willie Lowman is deceived by the distorted American Dream and gradually ends up with a tragic death. He is on the bottom of the capitalist society and tries to fulfill his value of life, the recognition of others, at the expense of his life. However, the capitalist system demands a person nothing but working without thinking just like a machine, so that humane aspect of human beings is denied, which is just the root of cause that leads Willie from disappointment to despair and to death. Therefore, this play criticizes the society Willie lives in.
