摘　　要：作为英汉习语中的一个重要组成部分，数字习语鲜明地体现了民族文化的心理、传统与特色。了解数词的文化内涵是正确运用英汉数字习语的重要基础。本文从一些有代表性的数字入手，探讨其在英汉习语中所体现出的不同文化意蕴和民族文化心理及文化差异的根源。As an important part of the English and Chinese idioms, numerical idioms reflect the psychological bases, the traditions and characteristics of the Chinese culture and that of the English speaking countries. A good understanding of the cultural connotations of the numerical words is the basis for the proper use of English and Chinese numerical idioms. This essay will discuss the different cultural connotations reflected by some typical numerical words in both English and Chinese idioms as well as the causes leading to the different numerical cultures.
