E 10 0~ 12The experiments were conducted in order to study the effects of adding choline chloride and vitamin E to the rations of meat ducks at different stages on the gain in the duck weight. The results were as follows. For the 0~14-day-old ducks, the effect of adding 650 mg/kg choline chlorideto the ration on the weight gain was the greatest, which was very significantly greater than that of adding 1150 mg/kg choline chloride(P≤0.01),but not significantly different from that of adding 900 mg/kg choline chloride(P> 0.05) the effect of adding 100 mg/kg vitamin E was greater than that of adding 125 mg/kg vitamin E though the difference between them was not significant(P>0.05), and both effects were very significantly greater than that of adding 150 mg/kg vitamin E. For the 15~35-day-old ducks, the effect of adding 650 mg/kg choline chloride was very significantly greater than that of adding 900 mg/kg or 1150 mg/kg choline chloride(P< 0.01), and the difference between the effects of adding 900 mg/kg and 1150 mg/kg choline chloride was not significant(P>0.05); the effect of adding 125 mg/kg vitamin E was significantly greater than that of adding 150 mg/kg vitamin E(P<0.05) and not significantly different from that of adding 100 mg/kg vitamin E(P>0.05). For the 36~49-day-old ducks, the effect of adding 900 mg/kg choline chloride was the greatest, which was very significantly greater than that of adding 1150 mg/kg choline chloride(P<0.01), but not significantly different from that of adding 650 mg/kg choline chloride(P>0.05); the effect of adding 150 mg/kg vitamin E was the greatest, though it was not significantly different from the effects of adding 100 mg/kg and 125 mg/kg vitamin E(P>0.05). According to the above results and the demand for the growth rate and economic benefit of meat ducks as well as consumers' requirement for the lean meat, proposals of adding choline chloride and vitamin E to the rations of meat ducks were put forward, that is, choline chloride is 650 mg/kg and vitamin E is 100~125 mg/
