摘 要:随着远程教育的发展,国际远程教育的评估理论和实践也在不断成熟和完善。目前,远程教育评估已呈现出研究上的专业化、方法的综合化、内容的扩大化和主体的多元化等四大趋势。研究和把握远程教育评估的发展趋势,是合理使用评估方法的关键。With the exponential growth in distance education, the theory and practice of evaluation in distance education have developed rapidly in almost all parts of the world. In general, there are four major trends. Firstly, there has been growth in the level of professionalization of evaluation and assessment theory and practice. Many universities have set up Masters and other graduate programs in distance education. Courses in evaluation and assessment are often one of the most important elements in these programs. Some open universities have also set up research institutes to look into evaluation in distance education. The UK Open University's Research School is a good example. Secondly, an integrated approach has become a common choice for evaluation activities in distance learning. Both qualitative and quantitative evaluation tools are employed. This is a stark contrast to the past when quantitative methods were emphasized at the expense of qualitative ones. Thirdly, the concept of evaluation and assessment is no longer confined to students. With the rapid development of distance education, study programs, development projects and different aspects of distance learning are also being evaluated and assessed. In future, more assessment will need to be conducted on government policies, laws and regulations relating to distance education. More attention will also need to be paid to the evaluation process, in addition to the final outcome. Fourthly, while the management in distance learning institutes used to be the major players in the evaluation process, frontline workers and assessees are now playing a more important role.
