摘 要:本文概述“花园路径现象”研究的发展历程 ,介绍以心理语言学为基础、以语法分析为基础、以及结合成分分析和功能结构分析为基础的研究 ,指出今后的研究将向以语言分析为主 ,结合心理语言分析和语义分析的方向发展。In metaphor understanding, there are two steps, i.e., recognition of metaphor and inference of metaphorical meaning. The recognition of metaphor depends on relatively explicit signals at some times, or on conflicts of meaning in discourse with contexts as well as their nature at other times. The process of metaphor understanding is one in which the hearer transfers the main features of a metaphorical secondary term to the tenor and perceives the tenor again accordingly. Contextual factors play a very important role in recognition and understanding of metaphor. Register, speaker features, number of contexts, and schematic features of human knowledge determine our recognition of metaphor and inference of metaphorical meaning.
