摘　　要：中国ICU的发展应在危重病医学中有明确的学科定位。完成学科定位主要是建设好ICU,开展学术活动,提高自身水平。医院领导的决策是发展ICU的关键。ICU不可能有统一的模式,中国的ICU应以综合ICU为主。ICU是现时人才培养的基地。提高抢救危重病人的水平主要靠扎实的基本功。ICU较其他科室更要注重"失效学"的研究。It should have a clear discipline position on the subject of Critical Care Medicine for development of ICU. To achieve the position the main tasks such as establishment of ICU, carrying out academic interflow, elevating the quality of personnel have been mostly required. Policy decision of the hospital leaders is usually the key for development of ICU. It is impossible that there is a unified pattern for ICU. In China it gives priority to general ICU. ICU is a training base to bring up talent doctors. Elevating the level of treatment of critical patients principally depend on the basic skill. ICU should pay more attention to the investigation of inefficacy than other divisions.
