摘　　要：多媒体数据的数据量非常巨大,如果不进行压缩,就无法在计算机中存储和传输,也无法在多媒体信息系统中处理。本文基于信息论的理论介绍了图像压缩技术的基本原理和编码方法。The amount of the multimedia data is very large. If the data isn't compressed, it cannot he stored and transmitted among computers. and cannot be dealerd in the multimedia infonnation system. The basic princrole and coding methods are introduced on the basis of the infonnation theory in the paper.
