摘　　要：张恨水的《啼笑因缘》自问世以来一直很受欢迎,影响经久不衰,其作品本身也拥有出色的艺术成就,按理应跻身现代经典文学作品之列。但长久以来文学界给它的定位并不高,这与它的通俗性有关。其实,俗文学与雅文学之间并没有绝对的藩篱,并且这“藩篱”更不应成为阻碍优秀的俗文学作品被认为是经典作品的潜在因素,经典作品应该好看耐读,是审美直觉、审美想象、审美理解的统一。ZHANG Henshui's “Sadness and Happiness” Destined is very popular since publication. With outstanding artistic achievement, it is supposed to be among modern great literary works. But it failed to enjoy such status for its popularity. In fact, there is no absolute distinction between popular literature and classical one. Furthermore, the “distinction” is not supposed to be the obstacle for excellent popular works becoming classical works. The classical works should be attractive as the unity of aesthetic instinct, imagination and comprehension.
