摘　　要：本文从目前VPN流行的角度出发,详细阐述并比较第二、三层MPLS VPN的特点和应用。对于任何网络提供商来说,在选择两种VPN实现方法上,没有绝对的正确,应该根据自身的实际情况,采用第二层或者第三层MPLS VPN,或者两者混合使用,以便更好地支持VPN业务的开展。This paper is to explain, in detail, what underlies the choice between Layer 2 and Layer 3 MPLS VPNs from current VPN of view. Neither will always be the 'right' choice for every service provider - the nature of existing network architectures and desired service offerings are what ultimately decide the matter. And, of course, some service providers may deploy both types of VPN, or salutary combinations of the two technologies. The goal is they can deploy VPN businesses more conveniently.
