摘　　要：对郭嵩焘生平与时俱进的思想历程予以实事求是的历史定位，应作如是观：他既是经世派的后劲，又是洋务派的智者，更是维新派的先驱，堪称晚清史上对内谋改革、对外求开放的代表人物。To the historic position of Guo Songtao,his whole life and his thoughts keeping up with the times,we think,he was not only the successor of the Group of Statecraft and the theorist of the Group of the Modernization Movement, but also the pioneer of the Group of Reformers. He could be rated as the representative of reformer groups in the history of the late Qing.
