摘　　要：《独角兽》是被文学批评家研究得最细致的小说之一 ,为他们“在意思中发现意思提供了狩猎场”。解读《独角兽》的关键是柏拉图的洞喻。小说是对洞喻的评论 ,默多克在小说中通过构建“现实世界”、盖兹堡和雷德斯等三个世界 ,艺术化地演绎了在相对和偶然的世界里对真和善等绝对概念的求索。To critics, The Unicorn is a happy hunting ground for meanings within meanings. Plato′s metaphor of the cave is crucially important to the understanding of The Unicorn. By creating artistically three worlds—the ″real world″, the Gaze and the Riders—Murdoch studies the search for absolutes like goodness and truth in a relative, contingent world.
