摘　　要：表示颜色的词汇是在特定的历史和地理背景下产生的,这些词大都可以视为“文化局限词”。如果不了解这些词所承载的文化内涵,在交际中就会引起歧义,发生误解,从而达不到真正的交际目的。因此,了解英汉语言中特殊的历史、地理背景和社会习俗下所形成的颜色词的字面意义和引申意义,是有效地进行文化交际的关键。Color words are based on the special historical and geographic background. They are regarded as 'culture limited words'. If we can't learn the color words'cultural meaning, we will misunderstand the speakers, and can't reach the goal of communication. It is a key for us to learn the letter and the deep meaning of the color words based on the special historical and geographic background and social custom.
