摘　　要：从信息资源的类型、出版数量、馆藏量、特征、信息资源组织的角度阐述了国外视音频信息资源的现状。在此基础上,提出了视音频信息资源组织面临的问题;并从研究范围、研究内容、研究成果、学术活动的角度,分析了国外视音频信息元数据的研究状况和应用情况;阐述了视音频元数据研究呈现的特点。The article reviews on audiovisual metadata research in foreign countries. The current status of the global audiovisual information resources is introduced from the aspects of types, amounts, library collections and information organization. Challenges we face in the field of audiovisual information resources organization are pointed out. Essays in journals, papers in proceedings, online articles, some important projects and schemas are discussed. The status quo of audiovisual metadata research abroad and its characteristics are outlined.
