摘　　要：The aim of this study was to evaluate the development of LT in Eastern Europe. Representatives of gastro- and hepatological societies answered a questionnaire comprising the most descriptive items of the issue of LT until 1998. The Baltic countries, together with 6 southernBalkan countries, Moldovia and Belarus have not developed a programme of LT. In Ukraine, 7 LT were performed with 3 early deaths.
