摘　　要：“演义”源远流长,有“演言”与“演事”两个系统,“演言”是对义理的通俗化阐释,“演事”是对正史及现实人物故事的通俗化叙述。“演义”一辞在小说领域,是小说文体概念,指称通俗小说这一文体,而非单一的小说类型概念,故在小说研究中,以“历史演义”直接对应“演义”的格局应有所改变,“历史演义”仅是演义小说的一个组成部分。“演义”在历史小说领域,其最初的含义是“正史”的通俗化,所谓“按鉴演义”,但在总体上已越出这一界限。The 'romance has a long history , which is divided into two systems of 'discourse' (演言) and 'narration' (演示) . The system of 'discourse' gives a popular explanation of reason and ethics , while the system of 'narration' offers a popular description of the orthodox history and real persons and events . The 'romance is a genre of fiction , that is, the popular novel . Therefore , in the fictional studies , the frame of 'historical romance versus 'romance' has to be altered ; the 'historical romance' is only one part of the 'romance' . The 'romance' was first meant by popularising the orthodox history, that is, ' to display what is meant in the past events according to the historical books ' (按鉴演义), but the notion of ' romance' has now , in general , trespassed upon this limit .
