从《动物园的故事》结构的文体特征看荒诞派戏剧的象征创新

摘　　要：荒诞派戏剧产生荒诞感的重要原因是基于象征手段的极端化。荒诞派剧作家为了解决表达存在荒诞所遇到的难题 ,通常采取了两种走极端的象征手法 :一是变异和滥用传统意义上的象征手法 ;二是在否定语言作用的同时 ,突出篇章结构及副语言的某些特征 ,发掘新的象征手段 ,充分发挥戏剧各层次的象征功能。这两种做法在美国荒诞派戏剧的代表人物爱德华·阿尔比的《动物园的故事》The absurdity of theatre of the absurd results, in part, from the radical ways of symbolization. Such radicality, in theatre of the absurd plays, manifests itself firstly in the distortion and abuse of traditional symbolization and, secondly, in the exploitation of structure and paralanguage as essential means of symbolization. This paper attempts to foreground these two manifestations with a minute analysis of Edward Albee's The Zoo Story.
