摘　　要：地域性是古代白话小说的重要特点，宋以后西湖小说层出不穷，自 成系列，不但从一个侧面昭示了古代小说的嬗变轨迹，也折射出杭州文化高雅 与世俗兼容并存的城市个性。而西湖作为小说场景的运用，则是中国小说叙事 传统的一个生动体现。西湖小说所反映出的作家对城市生活认识的角度和程 度，在中国社会近代化的演进过程中，同样具有深刻的文化意义。The　regional　nature　of　the　vernacular　classical　fiction　is　well-known　to　us.　After　the　Song　Dynasty,　the　fiction　of　the　West　Lake　incessantly　came　int obeing　and　formed　a　serial　entity,　Which　not　only　represented　the　vicissitude　of　the　classical　fiction,　but　also　reflected　an　the　citied　personality　of　both　el egant　and　popular　characteristics　of　Hangzhou.　The　application　of　the　West　Lake　as　the　fiction's　environment　was　a　vivid　representation　of the　narrative　traditi on　of　the　Chinese　fiction.　It　had　a　profound　cultural　significance　in　presenting　the　city　life　with　which　the　authors　were　keenly　concerned　with.
