南社——新文化的前驱

摘　　要：本文论述分析了近代文学社团南社的发展沿革、成员组成及南社研究的历史变迁,指出虽然作风传统的南社受到过新文化界的批评,但南社事实上是新文化的前驱,他们努力的成果成了新文化的基础,他们遭遇的困境作了新文化的前鉴——虽然这并非他们的本意。南社的文化保守也体现了中华民族在现代化历程中对本民族内在“自我”的顽强守护,承担了民族文化的薪火相传,并非可以一笔抹杀。This paper attempts to analyze the history, members and learning of the ‘Southern Society’, pointing out that the ‘Southern Society’, though criticized as conservative by the new literary circle, is the pioneer of New Culture Movement. The ‘Southern Society’ lays the foundation and, though unexpected, its setbacks serve as a mirror for late-comers. Furthermore, the culture conservatism of the ‘Southern Society’ shouldn’t be totally blotted out, because it reflects the Chinese nation trying to keep national “ego” in the process of modernization and undertakes the task of handling down traditional national culture.
