摘　　要：本文将我国西南及其毗邻的印度、缅甸地区１９８０年至今，估计将延续至１９９６年前后的强震活动时段，称为新的强震活动幕。据有关对比依据认为：一方面新活动幕与１９４１－１９５５年活动幕有多方面的相似性；另一方面这两幕之间又存在重要的差异性。本文在兼顾历史发展的相似性和差异性两方面特征，全面进行对比研究后，对新活动幕强震现状作出了新的解释，并进而讨论了今后的地震趋势。In this paper, an active stage of strong earthquakes in Southwest China and neighbouring region of India and Burma starting from 1980 and continuing up to now, possibly to 1996 or so is defined new strong seismicity episode. Based on the comparison and analysis, the author believes there are not only many similarities, and also some obvious differences between the new active episode and past one of 1941 to 1955. Considering and analysing the similarities and differences between both the two active episodes, the author gives a new explanation about the present condition of strong earthquakes in the new active episode, and then discusses future earthquake trend.
