摘　　要：劳伦斯在他的小说中,通过对人物内心生活和精神世界的深入剖析,充分表达了他的人生观和世界观。在他创作的诸多人物中,有一些人物尤其对人生、生活和生命的否定而成为死亡的化身,从另一个侧面反映了劳伦斯对宗教和理性及工业文明的反抗思想。Lawrence is a giant in modem English literature. In his novels, he explores the inner thoughts and the spiritual world of his characters and unfolds his unique attitude toward life and the contemporary world. Among the characters he created, some are the symbols of death because they deny the essence of life. This paper aims at pointing out the significance of these characters and revealing Lawrence＇ s rebellious thoughts against religion, mentality and industrial civilization.
