摘　　要：牡丹是中国的特产花卉,有数千年的自然生长历史和两千多年的人工栽培历史,其花大、形美、色艳、香浓,为历代人们所称颂,具有很高的观赏和药用价值。该文主要通过介绍我国传统名花———牡丹的历史渊源,探索其栽培中心及其扩散地区的分布;同时通过调查收集,总结我国部分现存古牡丹的地点和生长状况,及其对社会文明的影响。这对研究我国灿烂辉煌的古牡丹文化及其在现代景观中的应用具有一定的意义,同时也可以洞察中华民族文化的一般特征。Tree peony, China＇ s inherent flower speciality, has a history of natural growth for several thousands of years and of artificial cultivation for over 2 000 years. It is highly appreciated throughout the history for its big flowers, beautiful shapes, bright colors, and strong fragrance. It is of high value in appreciation and medicine. The paper, throught studying the origin and the history of this traditional famous flower of China --the ancient tree peony, explores its cultivation centers and distribution characteristics, summarizes the locations and growth status of the existing peonies through investigation and collection, and discusses its effects on the social civilization, which is of significance in research into the splendid ancient peony culture and its application in the modem landscape architecture and helps to perceive the general features of Chinese national culture.
