摘　　要：英语名字来源广泛,由于社会历史的原因,有着丰富多彩的文化内涵;一些研究表明不如意英语名字对人有多方面的影响;了解英语名字的相关信息,有利于促进外语学习和跨文化交际,提高认知水平。English names come from a wide variety of sources, having rich and colorful cultural implications due to social and historical reasons. Some researches indicate that undesirable English names have various influences on the bearers and other people around them. A better understanding of the related information may help to promote our English study and cross-culture communication thus enhance our cognitive abilities.
