摘　　要：素质教育的内容丰富多彩,实施素质教育的途径也多种多样。英语专业英美文化教学对学生素质的培养和锻炼具有不可替代的明显的作用。The quality-oriented education means a lot and the ways to carry out the quality-oriented education are many and different.This paper holds that for the English majors the British and American cultures teaching has clear and definite functions on the training and practicing of the students' qualities.
