摘　　要：《桃之夭夭》宽厚地讲述了笑明明、郁晓秋母女平凡琐碎而又艰难的人生,企图用郁晓秋平实的生命存在来对抗物欲横流的世俗社会,她美丽健康,待人真诚而又乖巧,善于适应环境,对一切都随遇而安,但她的“无为”是一种被现实生存环境压倒的恐惧,是人失去“自我”的表征。作家将消除城市文明弊病的希望寄托在城市本身是具有一定的现实意义的。In a tolerant tone,The Peach Trees in Full Blossom by Ms. Wang Anyi, tells about the ordinary, trivial, and hard life of the mother, Xiao Mingming, and her daughter, Yu Xiaoqiu. The novelist＇ s revolt against the world obsessed with material desires finds expression in her description of the simple and natural existence of Yu Xiaoqiu, a beautiful, wholesome, honest and understanding girl who remains adaptive and happy-go-lucky in spite of the changes in her life. This paper, however,argues that Yu＇s inaction is actually a fear caused by the pressure and frustration of modern life and an unawareness of her ego. Meanwhile,this paper holds that novelist＇s view that the problems of the city civilization can be solved in the context of the city itself is of practical significance.
