摘　　要：苏州园林不仅以其卓越而精湛的造园技艺蜚声中外,同时其命名方式也有其独到的一面,既有表达所有者的人生志向者,也有贴切呈现园林景观视觉效果者。通过对园林命名这一活动中文化内涵的分析及归纳,试图揭示含义。Gardens in Suzhou are renowned at home and abroad not only for their remarkable and exquisite craftsmanship in garden construction but also for their unique nomenclature in that the gardens are named eithe to express the ambition or aspiration of the garden owners or to aptly present the visual effect of the landscape in the gardens. Nomenclature of such a kind is, though not unique to gardens in Suzhou, outstanding among personal gardens, which suffices for us to use for reference and learn from. This paper attempts to reveal the rules and structure of nomenclature and to explore its instructive significance in reality by analyzing and summarizing the cultural connotations of nomenclature of gardens in Suzhou.
