摘 要:大多数惯用语是概念性的而非语言的,因此,仅仅根据传统方法对惯用语作句法特征和意义关系的描述是不够的。本文运用L akoff&Johnson关于惯用语产生的认知机制的观点,分析概念隐喻、概念转喻和规约常识等三种认知机制在惯用语理解过程中的作用以及惯用语的复现、同现和连接等衔接功能,并从可分析性、多样性、矛盾性和临时性等主要词汇语义特征探讨惯用语隐喻意义形成过程中的理据。Most idioms are the products of conceptual system. Thus, by nature, idioms are conceptualized. Based on the theory of Lakoff & Johnson, this paper analyses both the role played by the three cognitive mechanisms, namely conceptual metaphor, conceptual metonymy and conventional knowledge, in the understanding of idioms, and the cohesive function performed by idioms through reiteration, co-occurrence and conjunction. The paper also explores the motivations in the formation of the metaphorical meanings of idioms through such lexical and semantic features as analyzability, diversity, contradiction and temporariness.
