摘　　要：早先开发出的XML应用编程接口规范DOM和SAX使用复杂,性能上也存在一些缺陷.JDOM是一个Java专用的处理XML数据的API,它突破了Java和XML之间的许多障碍,将两种技术整合到一起,使两者的配合更加自然和协调,转换起来也更为方便快捷.为此,论述了JDOM的开发背景、设计目标、内部构成、设计特色、系统功能以及与同类API的性能比较,以便为Java开发者选用XML API提供必要的参考依据.The DOM and SAX, which are API specifications previously developed for XML, is hard to use. At the same time there are some performance defects with both of them. The JDOM is a specific API for processing XML. It breakdowns a lot of barriers between Java and XML to integrate both of the technologies so that they can match each other more naturally and harmoniously, as well as their mutual conversions become more convenient and swift. Here covered it＇s development background, design goal, inner components, design features, system functions, and performance comparision with the same kind of APIs in order to offer some necessary references for Java developers to choose any Java API.
