摘　　要：蔡京在历史上是一个颇有争议的人物,他祸国殃民,为人所不齿。但他在书法艺术上却有很高的造诣,他主持摹刻《大观帖》并参与《宣和书谱》的修撰,为后世保存了很多珍贵的书法史料,他自己也在书法创作上取得了很高的成就。因此应该客观的评价他在书法史上的地位。Cai Jing is a quite controversial calligrapher in history. He was infamized for his political deeds which brought calamity to the country and the people. But his calligraphic achievements are great. He directed the carved reproduction of The Model Calligraphies of the Ta - kuan Era, and participated in the revision of The Hsuan - ho Calligraphy Catalogue, thus preserving many precious calligraphic materials for the later generations. His achievement in calligraphic creation is great as well. Therefore, an objective evaluation of his place in calligraphic history is necessary.
