摘　　要：系统阐述了胭脂虫分类、生物生态特性、人工繁养、胭脂虫红色素的性质及加工利用、胭脂虫产业的发展等,并对其开发应用前景进行了展望。Red pigment in the body of cochineal insect have already extracted and utilized for hundreds of years abroad. The cochineal insect has been applied extensively in various aspects such as the pigment in foodstuff and cosmetics because of its naturalness, stability and the adjustability of safety and color etc. We have done a great deal of research into the manual cultivation of the insect and the application of the red pigment in the body of cochineal insect and thus began to form the current of industrialization in the exploitation of relevant products since it was introduced into China during the recent years. This paper gives a systematic exposition on the taxology of cochineal insect, the characteristics of bioeeology, the manual cultivation, the nature , the processing and utilization of cochineal insect, and the development of the industries of cochineal insect and forecasts the prospect of its development and application.
