摘　　要：文章从教育和职业选择角度分析十九世纪女性所受教育对其婚姻、家庭以及社会的影响,展示女主人公的远大抱负以及她们因缺乏正规教育和社会习俗的限制所造成的矛盾,这种矛盾使女性无法彻底投身社会,她们的奋斗也只能以失败告终,最后还是回到了传统的角色中。This paper analyzes the various limits on women because of their lack of formal education and its influence on their marriage, family life and career. It lays bare the conflicts between the heroine＇s great ambitions and the inadequate options available to them. Though they struggle hard to push themselves into the society, they have to return to＇ the traditional role—wifehood in the end.
