摘　　要：近代社会意识的形成和演化,不仅是一个国家近代化的重要内容,而且是近代化在更高层次上的升华。作为新兴资产阶级的代言人,直隶商会积极投身于挽回利权的实际行动中,以崭新的内容使忧患意识具有了鲜明的时代特色;大兴劝奖竞争之风,打破狭隘的地域观念,以开放的心态迎接挑战,参与平等互利的国内、国际竞争与交往;突破传统官本意识,参与商事立法,改善市场经济秩序,并一再尝试以法律为武器,维护自身的合法权益;摒弃“在商言商”的传统观念,关注时局,投身爱国政治运动,参与地方自治,改良政治,促使直隶商界的参政意识不断高涨。直隶商会在推动社会近代化的过程中,使近代社会意识得到升华并内化为自己的政治人格。Formation and evolution of modern social consciousness is not merely the important matter for a country to modernize, it is a higher-level sublimation of the modernization. As the spokesman of the new pattern of the capitalist class, the Zhili Commercial Chamber threw itself into the practical action of retrieving its right. The brand-new content makes the suffering consciousness have distinct times character. It gone in for award competition, broke narrow regionalism, met the challenge with the open point of view, participated in the equal and mutually beneficial domestic, international competition and contact, broke through the traditional officer-oriented consciousness, participated in trading legislation, improved the market order, constantly took the law as the weapon to safeguard one＇s own legitimate rights and interests, abandoned the traditional idea of ＂ business is business ＂, paid close attention to the current political situation, joined in the patriotic political movement, participated in local autonomy, improved polities, all above actions impelled the business circles participate in government and enhance its political affairs consciousness. The Zhili Commercial Chamber makes modern social consciousness be sublimed to one＇s own political personality during the process of promoting the modernization of the society.
