摘　　要：本文对美国大学排行的历史进行了梳理,将其发展过程划分为萌芽期、初创期、发展期和成熟期四个阶段,通过剖析每个阶段的典型个案,揭示美国大学排行发展的特点和原因。This article systematically presents the ranking history of American university which can be divided into four stages： germination, beginning, development and maturity period. It tries to reveal the characteristics and the reasons for the development of the ranking system of American universities through analysis of typical cases in every stage.
