摘  要:在其滑稽的、近乎闹剧的外表下,当代英国剧作家卡里尔·丘吉尔的代表作之一“极乐的心境”通过换装手法涉及了一些深刻的主题,尤其是身份界定和“社会性别”界定的人为性以及不同时代的伦理关系和道德倾向的鲜明对比。这部戏剧使人们意识到维多利亚时期传统的道德观对人性的压抑固然应该受到批判,但当代的性解放和道德约束的消失所造成的混乱也应该引起我们的反思和重视。Under the cover of a ridiculous and near-farce comedy, contemporary British dramatist Caryl Churchill employs the technique of cross-dressing in one of her masterpieces, "Cloud Nine", to explore some profound themes, especially the artificiality of the definition of identity and gender, and the sharp contrast in ethical relationship and moral tendency between different historical periods. The play makes the audience realize that while the repression of human nature caused by traditional moral concepts advocated by the Victorians should be condemned, the chaos leashed by sex revolution and the disappearance of moral restrictions is also worthy of our reflection and attention.
