摘 要:副词、介词是英语语法中的两大基本词类。Huddleston等2002年出版的《剑桥英语语法》(CaGEL)系统地阐述了介词的及物性和不及物性理论。部分副词被归入介词,成为不及物介词,澄清了副词和介词之间分类不清、功能不明的问题。因此,比较Huddleston的CaGEL与Quirk的CGEL,分析介词副词到不及物介词的嬗变和理据,具有重要的理论意义和现实的指导意义。Adverb and preposition are two basic word classes in English grammar. The Cambridge Grammar of the English Language (CaGEL) published by Rodney Huddleston and Geoffrey K. Pullum in 2002 systematically describes the theory of transitivity and intransitivity of prepositions. A part of adverbs is classified as prepositions, or precisely intransitive prepositions, in order to clarify the confusion of classification and function between adverb and preposition. Therefore, it has an important theoretical significance and pedagogical implication to compare CaGEL by Huddleston with CGEL by Quirk, and to analyze and justify the change from prepositional adverb to intransitive preposition.
