摘　　要：西部大开发战略的启动和实施,给贵州的发展带来了千载难逢的机遇。在经济建设中工业建设占着重要的地位,需要数量多、质量高、留得住的高层次工程技术人才。但目前贵州的工科高等教育不仅规模和质量与贵州的经济建设以及西部大开发的需要差距很大,而且工科高等教育的结构也不够合理。因此,贵州必须采取超常规的跨越式发展战略,加速贵州工科高等教育的发展。Initialization and Carrying out of China＇s West development Strategy has brought up very precious opportunities for the development of Guizhou Province. Industrial construction plays a key role in economic development. This will need many, high- quality, reliable and high- level scientific and technological talents. However the technological higher learning in Guizhou at present cannot meet the need gap whether in scale or in quality posed by the Guizhou economic development and China＇s west development. Furthermore the technological higher learning has not reasonable structure. Therefore Guizhou has to adopt an unusual,leap development strategy to promote the development of Guizhou scientific and technological higher learning.
