摘　　要：建设生态城市、注重“生态文明”是未来城市发展的特征．人类的居住模式也将围绕着“生态城市”这一主题而展开．只有以生态学原理为基础,寻求城市发展的方向和道路,协调好以人为主的人类社会经济系统与其所依赖的自然生态系统相互关系,才能实现城市可持续的富裕、健康、文明发展．An eco-city refers to a city in which the structureo function and services of the natural ecological system in the city area coordinate and integrate the structure and function of the social and economic system in the same area. Construction of an eco-city indicates that city development enters a new phase, and requires new theories and new thinking for its development for city development. Now eco-city will be the only and inevitable choice for 21st century cities due to its strengths as follows：orderly developing according to the time, reasonable space arrangement, well metabolism process, sound industrial structure, right economy, abundant landscape diversity, competition, symbiosis and spontaneity.
