摘　　要：天台智的巨著《法华玄义》的重要性不仅在于其诠释《法华经》之旨意的精妙,更体现在其围绕着法华妙理,而开展出中国佛教得以成立的完整佛学体系。同时,各种佛教理论亦得到了归纳、整理、总结和发扬。故此,学人欲了解中国佛教乃至整个佛教的教理和教义,《法华玄义》不失为一部集大成的著作,足以从中一窥中国佛教的精髓。Exposition of the Deeper Meaning of the Lotus Sutra written by Zhi Yi of the Tiantai Sect is a great work, the significance of which not only lies in its superb and ingenious explanation to the main idea of the Lotus of Sutra but also embodies, by way of the profound principles of the Lotus of Sutra, its developing of a complete system of Buddhism. Hence, Chinese Buddhism has been established. At the same time, all sorts of Buddhist theories get a good drawing, sorting, summing and developing. Therefore, Exposition of the Deeper Meaning of the Lotus Sutra cannot be anything but a comprehensive work of epitomizing all the doctrines and principles of Chinese Buddhism, even the whole Buddhism, enough for learners to peep into the quintessence of Chinese Buddhism.
