摘  要:Cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway is a mechanism for neural inhibition of inflammation via the efferent vagus nerve. It can interact specifically with macrophage alpha7 subunits of nicotinic receptors, leading to cellular deactivation and inhibition of cytokine release. The pathway plays a critical role in controlling the systemic and local inflammations, and communicates with neuroendocrine pathways broadly. It constitutes a neural-immune circuit with the afferent vagus nerve whose activation can signal the brain that inflammation is occurring, bridging between the brain and the immune system.Cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway is a mechanism for neural inhibition of inflammation via the efferent vagus nerve.
