摘　　要：悉昙字母是古代印度的一种文字。考察悉昙字母音节结构、拼合原理并跟汉字反切法相比较,可以看出反切产生不受梵文拼音原理影响。Siddham letter is a kind of character of the ancient India. It is found that the origin of Fanqie [a traditional method of indicating the pronunciation of a Chinese character by using two other Chinese characters, the first having the same consonant as the given character and the second having the same vowel （with or without final nasal） and tone] was not influenced by the pronunciation principles of Siddham letters after studying the syllable structure and spelling principles of the Siddham letters and comparing it with Fanqie.
